Are you looking for the best Biology books for your NEET preparation? If yes then in this post I will tell you the 7 best biology books to score 360/360 in your NEET exam.

But in this post beforehand I want to mention that this is my honest list of best biology books for NEET not some paid promotion kind of thing.

While researching for this blog post I have seen many videos where people are promoting some famous med YouTuber’s books only without telling its cons.

But as you know I am kinda different.

So without any further ado, let’s dive right into it.

1. NCERT Biology

Wasn’t it an obvious choice? Absolutely!

In recent years it has been seen that the NEET exam is going highly inclined towards NCERT and in the NEET examiners are even asking questions from the hidden lines of NCERT. 

So, it is very important to regularly revise each chapter of biology NCERT at least 3 to 5 times before D-day.

And don’t listen to those Med Youtubers who keep on saying that revise their XYZ book in the last days of NEET.

You have to constantly revise your Biology NCERT till the last day before your NEET exam.

In my case, I had revised it around 3 to 4 times combined in both my drop years and that’s why I am expecting 351/360 in NEET 2024.

Also, the point to be noted is that you should have both old and new NCERT as the NTA body that conducts NEET approves the answer of new NCERT and in the syllabus of NEET biology, there are some topics of old biology NCERT as well.

2. NCERT At Your Fingertips

This book is one of the most used books by NEET aspirants for doing question practice in biology.

More than 85 to 90% of aspirants have used this book during their NEET journey.

It has a lot of relevant MCQs that have come directly into NEET biology and will surely come in the future too.

But it has some problems too like some weird and out-of-syllabus questions which can demotivate the NEET aspirants.

However, it shouldn’t be a major constraint as most of its questions are very good and highly relevant.

Also, if you buy the latest edition of this book then you will get exemplar questions of biology in it too which are becoming highly relevant in NEET nowadays.

So, in short, this book is what an ideal book should be for doing question practice for NEET biology.

It has almost all types of questions covered, it has a variety of questions, exampler questions, and a lot more.

3. Masterclass in Biology

Masterclass in Biology is my favorite book as it is the book that I have personally used in my NEET preparation and it has helped me in getting 351/360 in NEET 2024 biology.

I have used its online version but Neetprep has its hard copy as well.

The questions that you will get in this book are of gold standards prepared by Dr N.K. Sharma sir who has been guiding NEET students for several years.

All these questions are highly relevant from the NEET standpoint and necessary for any NEET aspirants who want to have a perfect score in NEET biology.

The best part of this book is the in-depth explanations of the questions given by N.K Sharma sir which would help you get your concepts right.

One of the bad of this book is that it has some out-of NCERT questions too as this book is also designed for biology olympiads.

4. Allen or Aakash Modules

This is another gem of a book to do question practice for NEET biology.

I know some might get offended by this statement as it consists of a lot of extra out-of NCERT-type questions but trust me these modules have a lot of good and challenging questions as well.

If I had made a list of physics or chemistry books then I would have ranked it higher but due to unnecessary questions and content in biology modules, I have given them this position.

But it doesn’t mean in any sense that the Aakash or Allen biology modules are bad they are very good and have a lot of variety of questions.

It is just that it has some higher-level stuff that you should ignore at any cost in your NEET preparation.

However, I feel Aakash’s modules are a bit better than Allen’s.

5. PW 36 Years PYQs NEET

PYQs are the first stepping stone to NEET question practice but doing it alone without any other question practice resources is nothing less than foolishness.

Why? Because I did it in my first drop and it cost me an extra drop year.

I regret that and don’t want you to do the same.

So, always remember to do the first new biology questions from any of the resources given above and then see the last 15 to 20 years max of NCERT-based PYQs and solve the ones you haven’t done yet.

With this strategy, you won’t see any new questions in your NEET exam and you will get 360/360.

6. Biohack

This is another good book for NEET biology that you can use to remember almost all lines of biology NCERT.

It has a lot of fill-ups and other types of questions that I call tough nuts because it is tough but helps you recall every line of NCERT.

And this is the thing that this book is made for that is active recall.

However, this doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have a lot of errors too.

First, it doesn’t have all the types of questions that are asked in the NEET exam.

Second, it has a lot of NCERT lines missing from it and also it has a lot of extra stuff present in it which would create unnecessary pressure on the aspirants.

So, all these points make this book not completely reliable but it can be used to a certain extent if you have completed your NCERT, modules, and PYQs.

Also, according to me, it is not a replacement for NCERT as claimed by its author Dr. Parth Goyal.

It is just a good question practice book for NEET aspirants that’s it. So, do revise NCERT in the last month of your NEET preparation not biohack.

7. Errorless Biology

Another all-time favorite book for NEET biology that a lot of NEET aspirants use.

However, the main problem that I have found in this is that it has a lot of extra stuff and questions which can waste a lot of your time.

So, if you want to use this book then don’t fall into the trap of doing extra questions that are never asked in the NEET exam.
